400 down

Took the BG380 to Eagle Creek Pistol Range again on Sunday morning while waiting for Bobbi to get home for lunch.

Special thanks to Lucky Gunner Ammunition for the Fiocchi 95gr .380 FMJ ammo, a hundred rounds of which I put through the gun that morning.

On round number fifty-seven of the day (#357 of the test) I had a light strike on a primer. When fed through the gun again, the round fired and the gun functioned normally. Other than that, there were no failures to go through the complete cycle of operation.

That's 400 rounds in the books with no cleaning or lubrication. There were two light strikes on primers (#140, #357), but otherwise the pistol went through the complete cycle of operation with each pull of the trigger. 1600 rounds to go.

Incidentally, I fired the first magazine of the day holding on the right edge of the bull at a little over seven yards, remembering that the gun had been shooting left. Those first rounds landed POA/POI, as indicated by the orange circle. I don't know why the Fiocchi shot closer to the sights than the Aguila or Winchester, but some experimentation is in order. The rest of the shots, I held on the center and was pleased enough the results, except those four egregiously-dropped shots from trying to go faster than I can run the gun yet.

But again, this was mostly just dirtshooting to build the round count. Hopefully this week, I can get some more informative work in with the gun in the pistol bays, rather than the covered line. It's supposed to be grand weather for it.
