Meanwhile, on the Korean penninsula...

...it appears that the People's Beloved Glorious Maximum Leader is still dangerously nuts.

SOP among dictators and other lunatics.
That your people are starving to death doesn't mean that you don't have the money top fulfil your dreams of power.

What is Kim Jong-ill (typo intended) protecting? Who in his right mind would conquer a country that isn't worth anything?

Can't for the life of me remember exactly what it was, but for a bit there was an Adult Swim animated cartoon (or maybe comedy central?) about Robert Evans as an international playboy/film director/bon vivant/superhero, and in one episode he has an intrigue with Kim Jong Il. It's worth seeing, if you can get hold of it. I'm amazed when anything comes from Hollywood showing someone like him for the kook he actually is.

Flipping radio today, I heard someone on NPR wonder what GWB's favorite button is. Well, it's ironic they'll never scrutinze KJI with so critical an eye as they are bent on having on people in the USA they differ with politcally.
