It's the dawning of a brand new day...

These winter blahs are for the birds.

I have a solar-spectrum lamp pumping happy simulated daylight into my face, and I have washed down my One-A-Day with a can of yummy Spicy Hot V8. Let's see if this breaks me out of my funk and lets me start writing again.

I still have a lingering sense of malaise and nausea...OH, wait!!! It's not lingering anymore...It's permanent, thanks to our Feckless Leader and his worshiping media lackeys.

I'm thinkin' TWO sunlamps and productive trip to the gunshow this weekend will take the Mongo-depressive edge off for a day or two.

However, reflecting upon a more permanent solution for Those Who
Would Rule Everything, lasting personal happiness is some good bit further down the road, politically speaking.

termi - a good alphabetic start, there

You might add a vitamin D3 supplement (or increase your dose if you're already taking some). I started taking 5k IU daily several weeks ago, and it has done wonders for my mood.

Wait. Did Tam just use "yummy" and "V8" in the same sentence? With neither "bloody" nor "Mary" added?

It's TEOTWAWKI. And I don't feel fine...

;)

(Glad to hear you're shaking the blahs, Tam)

Play Partridge Family songs on your iPod. Enjoy schandenfreude about the iPad. That'll fix you right up.

Oh God bless you with the V8. I can't abide that stuff. It's only in the last couple of years I've been able to eat tomatoes (yeah, I know, I weird but I love turnips & Brussels sprouts and other veg most people hate). But V8 is like concentrated everything-I-hate-about-tomato in a can.
But I'm happy it works for you. Full employment for the juicers and canners!

Forget the Partridge Family! You need to crank the stereo up to 11 with ether the Battlefield Band or Tannahill Weavers playing a medley of jigs and reels. Nothing gets the blood racing like the pipes!

I LOVE a V-8 when I'm feeling down. My favorite is a 426 Hemi.

Tam: I'll echo the vitamin D supplementation. I know it's kind of fringy still, but there's a growing awareness that we're dreadfully vitty D deficient, for the most part.

The V-8 needs a celery stick and a splash of Ketel One to get me going. My lady Doc ordered it so I'm taking the Vit-D too - it's in all the MD's latest talking points memo.

I dunno, Jay, the only times I've found bloody mary's even inviting was when I was drinking them REALLY FAST.

Tomato Juice, Tomato Soup, ketchup, can't stand the lot of 'em!

I'm not much of a fan of regular V8, but the Spicy Hot variety is like salsa you can drink without having to deal with messier delivery methods like corn chips.

But it's not crunchy that way! :)

One problem with Vitamin D supplements: latest research finds that your body requires Vitamin A with it for your body to be able to utilize it. On the order of 10:1 ratio of A to D. They find that this is not hazardous, as A without D at high dosage can be. Unfortunately, I haven't found this available yet. Still looking, but it seems the vitamin vendors haven't stumbled on this info. Haven't found straight A either, which is not surprising.
The amount of D that your body makes by being in the sun on a summer day is incredibly high, which is what got them to start looking at the situation.

Sadly, this made me think of the "It's Morning In America" political adverts of 1984, and compare then and now.

But don't let me bring you down.

If the V8 don't do the trick, try walking around for a couple days with clothespins attached to your

oh.

You don't have those.

Hey, it works for me. Makes you less concerned about the weather. Makes driving a chrome plated bitch, though.
